Almoayyed Solar Commissions Bahrain’s First Net-metered rooftop PV Systems

Almoayyed Solar, an engineering division of Almoayyed International Group, commissioned Bahrain’s first net-metered rooftop PV systems. The system was commissioned with 24 solar panels which will produce 7.8 kilowatts of electricity. This translates to a total capacity of 12,500 units per year and is one third of the annual consumption by the household and the first-of-its-kind residential project in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The project was equipped with smart inverters and state-of-the-art fully automatic power control system. The solar panel prices have fallen sharply in the last 10 years which made the solar system more economical.

Net-metering allows all house owners to generate their own electricity cleanly and efficiently. During the day, most solar customers produce more electricity than they consume; net metering allows them to export that power to the grid and reduce their future electric bills.
